Spicing things up

My husband and i have good sex but it’s always basic bedroom sex. And it’s never spontaneous. Right before bed or in the middle of the night he’ll just say “okay i need to do you” or “can we do it” and it drives me crazy. Of course i want to have sex but that’s such a boring way to initiate it. Any tips on how to spice things up? Other places to have sex besides the bedroom?

He was a bit wild before we met so idk if that’s why everything is standard in the bedroom now?
