Feeling bad about my body

Bethlisa • 👫🏼Married, mom of one💙 pregnant with #2💖💙👶🏼

Hi mommies to be,

Today I am 6 weeks pregnant and very greatfull for that!

The thing that makes me very insecure is my weight. 2 months ago my husband and I got married and before that I lost a little weight, not as much as I wanted to But I was pretty ok with it.

Now that I am pregnant I find myself eating and eating. I'm trying to eat Healthy But it's very hard. I've already gained about 6 kg since the wedding, might be even more now.

I feel so Ashamed of myself that I feel myself slipping in a depression again (I have a history of depression) I feel so discusting!

Anyone who's going through the Same or has Some Good tips. Btw I'm overweight.

Just take it slow, try to make one or two good eating choices a day. Just swap out the (morning bagel for yogurt) just little things like that. You have come this far you can do it! BTW congrats!! If you have any questions I can try to help. Support is key to making good choices.

I got married November 11, 2017 and I’m also just over 6 weeks. Before we started planning the wedding I had LOST 100 pounds. I’ve gained back 60+. I just want you to know that you’re not alone ❤️

Girl I get it. I’m super overweight, even after the weight loss, and I have severe anxiety. I haven’t really had any nausea, which scares me actually, but I guess it’s normal? I’ve been super dizzy when I lay down though. I’m also trying to eat healthy but to be honest I also eat McDonald’s cheeseburgers once a week at least now lol. My viability scan is on Monday! That will help me feel better I’m sure. We’ll have to stay in touch!

We got married November 17th! Over the Last few days i've been feely a little less bloated so that made me feel a little better. Also The naussea kicked in, and vommiting too. Maybe that will help me controle the weightgain a little. Thanks for your Message, it's Good to know I'm not the only one!

I understand as well, am 5 weeks and before I found out I was pregnant I was exercising and had lost a little weight, but now I feel like I’m back sliding. And I am ashamed because I want the classic pregnancy look/belly and I know because of my belly fat i won’t. I know that should not be the concern but I’m human and pregnancy belly shaming is real.

Try meal prepping! Seriously helps so much! Make the time to do it once a week and make some freezer meals! Pinterest healthy meal prep and then try to only keep fresh veggies and fruits maybe some low carb snacks in the house! GET MOVING ! Walks and try getting some yoga dvds! Do what you can. :) honestly the meal prep is the best thing to do though! Weight loss is 80% food and 20% gym. I’m 16weeks and have lost a healthy 15lbs since pregnancy . Some of it was due to morning sickness and food aversions . But to my luck it was easiest for me to eat fresh veggies and fruits and since my aversions have gone I’ve been sticking to it. My issue is that I’m starting to show but haven’t “popped” so I just feel super chubby 😭.

Similar story here, weight gain after weight loss before the wedding and then pregnancy! What I did wasn't positive affirmations when looking at the mirror- but rather NEUTRAL affirmations. Sounds weird...but it helped me bot slip into depression while gaining. I would prep myself before looking in the mirror by agreeing to not use negative self talk. Instead of saying "damn my stomach is droopy" I would think "this is how my body is dressed today" and move on. I don't know if it was necessarily uplifting, but it was an alternative to all the negative appraisals I would other wise make. Good luck ❤️ try to remember it is temporary ❤️
