Postpartum EBF fertility question?

I keep hearing conflicting answers! Are you more fertile or less while EBF? 
A few weeks post part and just wondering

Technically less fertile, as the hormones are counter-productive to reproduction. *However* getting pregnant while nursing is far more common than you think and it really shouldn’t be used as birth control. If you don’t want more kids, use a condom. 
I have 2 nursing babies, both conceived around 9-11 months post partum.

Since your period doesn't always return immediately while ebf, you won't know you've ovulated until after it comes back. So you will be able to get pregnant before your period, and you won't know that until AFTER you've had the period. Some women don't have a period at all while breastfeeding and others have it return immediately. So,  since you won't know, you can't rely on it as a form of birth control!
