Mother in Law

My mother in law and i have a rocky relationship. We have weeks where we get along just fine and weeks that we do not. Lately ever since her other soon got a gf she perfers her over me and talks about how perfect she is and how much i suck. It got to the point where my husband even had to sit down and talk to her about it. She has now requested to have mu son every thrusday its good because i have a day off and get things done but on the other side i hate it because she does not keep in constant contact with me and it drives me nuts. I already spoke to my husband about it and he says he will speak to her. I just wanna know what do you ladies do to improve your relationship with your mother in law or how do you keep it from constantly being a problems in your relationship?
