boyfriend problems

so me and my bf have had problems and he constantly playing mind games with me. and talking to other girls but he makes out with me and keeps his family and my family knowing that were still together when were really not. what does it mean? what is he trying to do. when he lets his family know were still together but me and everyone else he doesnt.?
