Allergy meds in first trimester?

So I get really bad allergy/sinus pains mostly when I’m sleeping. Normally, I take Zyrtec d daily, but a.) I’m out of it and b.) I’m not sure it’s safe
Is Benadryl safe to take in the first trimester? I’ll be 5 weeks on Tuesday so I haven’t seen a doctor yet. All my research has given me mixed reviews.

I have such bad allergies living in NC(CA native)  and I was told by 2 different doctors, one my OB and the other the family doctor, to not take anything with pseudoephedrine unless absolutely necessary. What I can take is regular Zyrtec and I take 1 Benadryl every morning during summer, fall, and spring which is when mine are the worst.
