Does the hospital give you or put your baby in a onsie just after birth for you to keep?

I live in the US, Kentucky to be exact. I'm currently 33w6d & first time mom. I've seen a few people on here saying that the hospital put a onsie on their baby shortly after birth that come from the hospital, I've never heard of that before. I know they put a hat on the baby & wrap them up but never a onsie or outfit from the hospital. I'm just very curious about all this.

I live in Cali and When I had my two kids they would just put a pink or blue hat , and just a little newborn long sleeve shirt and a diaper lol , now that im expecting my third , due any minute now I’m expecting the same lol but I’ll be taking her two pairs of clothes .

It was the same way at both hospitals I delivered at.... Long sleeve shirt but no onesie, diaper, hat, and swaddle blanket. The hat is the only thing you’re supposed to keep, the shirts and blankets are supposed to be left at the hospital.

My hospital in California put my son in a onesie long sleeve. They told me not to bring any of my stuff, only the going home outfit, because they didn’t want it to get lost. I hope this one in Michigan is the same way.

My oldest was born in IL, he was put on a long sleeve shirt and they provided diapers while in the hospital. The doctor who delivered him gave each baby he delivered an engraved silver spoon. 
My 2 youngest were born in Kansas and were put in the same kind of long sleeve shirt, given a receiving blanket, a quilt that was donated by a local quilting group, a handmade hat also donated, a bag of goodies from a local church that had a book, pacifier, homemade burp rags, a small handmade teddy bear, and coupons for baby goods. Small town hospital, so babies were big news! It was kind of overwhelming.

I had my son 3 weeks ago and they put him in a button up shirt, swaddle blanket, and hat. They also sent us home with several shirts and swaddles. I'm not a big fan of the shirts but the swaddles are the best!

My sons have all been dressed in snap up wrap style shirts, but it was expected that we would leave them and they’d be laundered for the next baby, just like the blankets. The only time I’ve ever heard of bringing clothes home from the hospital was when it’s a special holiday and they do themed onesies.
