Getting off BC but not TTC

Ok so we have a beautiful 10 month old and we're thinking about maybe trying for another on about a year.. I've been on Depo since I was 18 and have had no issues with it, until after I had our LO. I'm pretty sure it's just my PP body adjusting but I've decided to not get my next shot and just be BC free.

Of course that means we'll use condoms in the meanwhile and be careful to track my ovulation like we did when we conceived our LO. I've done research into other BC and just don't feel comfortable trying any others.

Any ladies not using any hormonal contraception and not TTC? Are you paranoid all the time? Do condoms get annoying? Does all the spontaneity of your sex life go away? (Haven't used condoms with my husband in 5 years)
