My IUD

So I have had my IUD for almost 3 years now. My only child is about to be 10 in June. I'm thinking about taking my IUD out soon. Not to try to get pregnant but to just let it happen when it's time to. But I love not having a period. Also I don't want to take it out then start getting all emotional every month I have a period again. Any advice on what I should do?
