Having the Flu while Pregnant 😔 (Rant)

I just had the worst scare of my life...

So my oldest son got really sick last Wednesday. I took him and my two daughters to the doctor to see what was going on. They were all tested for strep and were negative. Only my daughters were test for flu and they were also negative. My son was already past the 48hr window for tramiflu so the doctor thought it was pointless to test him.

So my kids had a long weekend because of MLK and because the weather was so cold they canceled school on Tuesday too. They finally went to school today and my oldest daughter was immediately sent home with a 104 fever.

I started feeling like crap since yesterday so my husband immediately picked her up and checked out my little one and rushed them to their doctor again to find out one has Flu A and the other one Flu B . Of course it’s too late to treat them as well.

I’d been in bed all day running a

fever and just not feeling it. I had an appointment scheduled to see my PCP but I had to cancel and rush to the hospital instead. I started bleeding and cramping like crazy. I’m 5 weeks 4 days pregnant.

I felt like shit. The doctors didn’t seem to give two fucks about me and my baby’s health. It took them 2 hours to start an IV. And that was 2 hours in a room not the waiting room. After that it took another 2 hours for a pelvic exam to make sure my cervix was as closed . I felt like they didn’t care if I miscarried since I was only 5 weeks. 😭😭😭. Thank God After my IV finished I literally stopped bleeding. My cervix was closed and now I’m back home trying to stay hydrated for both me and the baby.
