Complications - long post - need advice!
Hi ladies! I have done all kinds of Google searches on different things I have going on but wanted to see if anyone on here has experienced something similar.
My LMP started on November 27th, 2017 but I am on a 34-35 day cycle so I ovulate about a week later than someone on a normal cycle. I believe the date we conceived was December 18th, as hubs was sick during most of my fertile window. But not sure on date of implantation.. Then I got my BFP on New Year’s eve!
Until last Friday (Jan 12th - about 5 weeks I think), I’ve only had mild symptoms - headaches, light cramping, always thirsty and chapped lips. I woke up Friday morning, went to the bathroom and saw red blood in the toilet and on my toilet paper after I wiped (sorry TMI!!). The second time I went, I passed what I think was just a small blood clot but no blood when I wiped. Since I hadn’t been to my first appt yet, the doctor wouldn’t see me and referred me to the ER. At the ER, they took 7 vials of blood, a urine sample and did a transvaginal ultrasound. They said my labs came back fine - with the exception of a UTI, which I am now taking a safe antibiotic for - and that my gestational sac was measuring smaller than they would expect.
Since the bleeding, I only had light pink spotting on Saturday and a small amount of brown discharge on Sunday.
I was able to get my first appt moved to this past Tuesday (Jan 16th), where they did more blood, another urine sample and my doctor did a physical exam. She said that my results from the ER showed an oblong gestational sac so that combined with the bleeding has her concerned. She said she did not think it was an ectopic pregnancy. My cervix was closed and she seemed to be happy about that. My HCG levels were 5486 and they tested them again this morning. I am hoping to have those results back tomorrow! She also has me taking 1mg of folic acid 4 times per day and right now is referring to my situation as a “threatened miscarriage”.
Has anyone experienced something similar to this? What were your results?
