3 week old & a trip to the beach???

Question

So my son will be 3 weeks old on Saturday which is the same day my niece (brother’s daughter) will be having her first birthday party 
It’s about a 2 hour drive and my son loves to be in the car, do you guys think it’s a bad idea? It’d only be for the day and then we’d come back home but I’m not sure, it just feels like a big trip and everyone is telling me I shouldn’t even be taking him to the stores with me.

Are you concerned about exposure to illness like the flu? I’m worried about that, and my baby isn’t born yet. I say just do what you’re comfortable with. Maybe ask your pediatrician for recommendations.

We took our daughter everywhere. At 2 weeks old we took a 5hr trip from home and stayed overnight. She went to fairs, the zoo, shopping, visiting friends/family... If you think baby is up for the trip, if you're up for the trip, then go and enjoy it!

We flew with our 2 week old which seems like a way bigger ordeal haha. I say if you want to go, go for it :) have a fun trip!
