Panty liners ???

I have a general question? My daughter is ten and she is turning 11 this year, we’ll all her close friends have started AF and she’s scared she’s Next. She wants to wear panty liners so that if it happens she wouldn’t mess her clothes up, should I let her? I only have one girl this is my first rodeo🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

I say no harm if they help keep her calm . I remember a few weeks before I had my first period I had increase in mucus (I know tmi) but it was uncomfortable and embarrassing (and staying in wet clothes can cause yeast infections) so panty liners might be a good idea, when I finally told my mom I actually started my period the next morning. If it were my daughter, I would probably reassure her that clothes can always be cleaned. She doesn’t have to wear a pantyliner every day, but she could certainly have some with her. Show her how to use them, so if AF does start away from home, she feels prepared to handle it until she can get home. I’d talk to her and take my cues from her though. I wouldn’t want her living in a state of anxiety about it.

I would let her try them out, it really can’t hurt! I think the worst part of being brand new to periods was (and honestly still kinda is) worrying about not realizing you have a big period stain on your pants. If it will ease her anxieties, maybe take her out and let her pick which ones she would like to try!

I think it’s a good idea , my mom did that to prepare me on how it’s going to be when I get my period I would wear them and when I got my period which I did in school I luckily had one on and felt like I was prepared :). . Hope that helps

I wore them before I had my period because I was scared my period would start unexpectedly/ I wanted to feel grown up. My mom gave them to me and showed me how to use them and I wore them for about a week before I realized it was silly and time consuming and then I just started carrying them in my backpack at school. I say indulge her, there’s no harm in her wearing them and she will feel like you listen to her concerns and support her.

I'd  show her how to apply them to her underwear, and then have her carry a few in her backpack. I bet wearing them everyday in anticipation would begin to irritate her down there.

When I was young and I had this anxiety my mam let me wear them when I went to school but when I came home I could relax and take them off. It was a good job too that she let me do this because I started my first period when I was in school so I knew I was protected and didn't have to worry about sneaking off to the toilet and worrying if I had leaked through my pants before I had chance to go to the toilet. I wasn't so much worried when I was out and about in general but school was a totally different worry haha. I know this is what I will be doing with my daughter too if she ever has these worried Maybe explain that she can wear them when she goes to school if it will help her relax and feel more at ease but when she comes home to take them off?
