Ok so my cousin & his gf spent the night. We are really close to my cousin. This was the 2nd time meeting his gf and they decided to stay the night. In the morning when we woke up she made herself coffee and laughed saying “I made my coffee I really needed it in morning”.. my parents are pissed.. they’re pretty territorial.. what do u think? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I can kinda understand why your parents may be mad. I wouldn’t really like if someone was over and helping themselves to things? Ya know.
I was raised to ask before you take, so maybe it’s because she didn’t ask?

I get it. It’s someone you barely know going through your stuff. When I was first dating my fiancé and would visit him at his parents I would ask to do things. It’s respectful if you’re going to be using their stuff even just asking where something is. Right now we live with them and I still ask because it’s their house. My in laws are really chill and we can pretty much do whatever we want with the house but I still ask for their input or if I need something. For example, their bedroom is always open and the scale is in there and so are some medications and first aid type things. We’re also allowed to shower in there if need be. However, if I need to weigh myself I do it when my sil or fiancé is with me. I don’t just go into their room like their kids do it’s not right. For everyone saying it’s wrong of the parents I get that too. I would say it’s ok for the parents to be upset and bring it up to your cousin. The first time I went on a date with my fiancé I was drunk and locked out of my place so I stayed at his in his room where his brother also slept. After we were engaged he told me his mom was upset cuz she didn’t know who I was or what type of person. She said she didn’t know if I was a thief or would say my bil raped me or a murderer. Which is all understandable especially since she has daughters. You can just go into someone’s home as a stranger cuz that’s what she is and expect to be able to do whatever you want.

I don’t like random people to behave like they are at home. I live in my father’s in law house and there is a woman who makes cleaning the house and every time she came she drinks loads of coffee. I can’t get it why but it’s not my home so I just keeping silent

I don't think it's that big of a deal. It shows she's comfortable enough to make it. And it's just coffee. I might've thought in my head that it might've been slightly more than I would've done in that situation but I definitely wouldn't have been offended or mad.
