AIO'S or Prefold with covers for a newborn?

Question

what do you personally think is better to make up a newborn stash AIO'S or Prefold and covers. or fitted and covers? I have 8 AIO'S so far but they're more expensive. is it worth the price to get only AIO or should I try a blend of things?

I would personally get more prefolds or flats with covers for newborn baby. The prefolds can be used later as inserts for your pockets when they outgrown them!
I also went on Facebook and bought some gently used AIOs for newborn. I got nine AIOs for only $60.00!

We have a variety but we plan on using mostly newborn flats (not pictured), prefolds and fitteds with wool and pul covers for our coming newborn. Aios are great but not only are newborn ones expensive, they often times outgrow the absorbancy sooner than they do they the actual diaper.

AIOs are so expensive and they’re in newborn size for such a short period of time and need SOOO many diapers for the newborn period that I’d definitely recommend prefolds over AIOs. A lot of CD moms love flats, but I just think they’re a huge pain personally

We use FST(flour sack towels/flats) I plan to buy 5-6 newborn covers from thirsties or blueberry diapers for our next baby(started the current baby at 5 months old) and play around with how the absorbency works. It will be much easier to add 30 more FST and a couple covers to the wash than buying a whole new stash. 
Now at 15 months I do one bamboo insert for her 3 hour nap and 2 for over night wrapped in the FST and we have had 0 leak issues!

Wait what is the difference between a Prefold and a flat? I may have them confused. I'm thinking of the large cotton squares that you fold into the covers😅

We did an AIO rental with my LO. She outgrew the absorbency way before she outgrew the size. Next time we’ll be doing prefolds and covers we can use the prefolds in our OS pockets instead of microfiber
