I’m bi, I came out to some friends in my late teens, I didn’t really admit it to myself until 16-17 and took me a while to come to terms with everything after being raised in religion and being taught how bad and wrong it is. The friends I came out to first were new friends I met as I expanded my interests and social group, they knew from the start so they just accepted me that way. 
I came out to my childhood friends when I was 21, that was tough, I knew they were not homophobic but it was a rough ride for us all when they found out I wasn’t quite the person they’d always thought I was. I lost contact with quite a few of them, some through them no longer wanting to know me and some through me no longer liking them after their reaction to me. I’m only still close to one of them, but she is the most amazing person I know.
I’m 33 now and have not come out to my parents, some of my other relatives know and are accepting and I think my mother has guessed but we’ve never talked about it but my father is deeply religious and hates “dirty poofs” more than anything else on Earth. For me to come out to him would cause such a big family fallout that it would cause an rift that could never be fixed. I’ve never had a serious girlfriend, in fact until OH I’ve had boyfriends but none of them serious either, I’d never introduced a partner to my parents and kept my love/sex life away from my toxic family. If I met a woman and fell in love then I would come out to them to be with her but I just don’t see the point in destroying my family when as it is right now I’m in a long term straight relationship. If we stay together for the rest of our lives then all of that family drama would never have needed to happen. It’s only really my parents that are toxic, the rest of my family are amazing and they would be dragged in and have to take sides and it’s just not fair to them.

I don’t plan to come out in any major way at all. I’m not ashamed or afraid, it’s just really private in my eyes (and unless you want to be with me, not your biz).

I knew I was bisexual when I was 13. But I didn't know anyone how was lgbt, I got teased at school for being a 'psycho lesbian' and my family are a bit homophobic. 
In my late teens I called myself 'not 100% straight' as  I was still afraid of the stigma around the term bisexual and, although I wanted to date women, the idea was terrifying! 
In my early 20's I told my bf I was bi. Now at 27, I have just come out as transgender!

I didn't necessarily have to come out as my family was really accepting about it - everyone in my household is basically bisexual, and I'm pansexual, so it's never really been an issue. It was a lot of self-discovery I has issues with, lol.

I didn’t have to come out to my family. They didn’t care and my mom and dad knew I was attracted to females. I came out to my friends in my late teens and then after that, I was just out lol. I’ve now been happily married to my wife for 6 years.
