Breastfeeding tips

What do you do for pain from breastfeeding? I've only been doing it 4 days so far and my nipples are in excruciating pain. She's latching well and I know she gets plenty when she nurses if just hurts like hell as she's nursing. I have tried nipple cream but that doesn't seem to do much. Love feeding my little one just wish it was less painful!
