Waking up multiple times

Baby used to wake up twice to feed at night and now he’s waking up every 1 - 2 hours! Not to eat, just for a cuddle. Someone help. Idk how long this is gonna last for. He’s become increasingly smart and will keep waking up until my husband and I finally give up at about 3am and put him in bed with us. Google says it’s a developmental thing cause they’re rolling and moving around a lot. Any other moms? Please don’t respond bragging about your kid sleeping all night long since whenever... I’m not that lucky. I need advice! We’ve tried sleep training but he literally will cry it out and still wake up an hour later so it was pointless.
