Has your hamster escaped?

Question

I picked her up from cadge she jumped went crazy had to scramble for her she obviously bit me with full force. Then my father said I shouldn’t have got a hamster. So I’m feeling such a shit owner.

My hamster was nicknamed ‘Houdini’ because she escaped so many times. I padlocked her cage at one point and she chewed through it and escaped. I lost her for 4 days once and she was fine. 
Just leave the cage open so she can get back in and get food/water. How my family caught her was getting a live squirrel trap and put treats in it. We caught her that night (after 4 days of being missing and chewing up my parents carpet). 
I don’t know a person who’s had a hamster that didn’t escape at some point. Don’t feel bad! Just try to catch her and hopefully it’ll all work out.

My hamster escaped. I couldn't find her for 3 days! Then one night heard scratching and woke my parents up convinced my hamster was in the wall. We searched the entire room to figure out where the scratching was coming from. Turns out it was coming from the vacuum! My mom has been using the long tube attachment to clean the shavings that had fallen out of the cage behind the dresser and she must have somehow gotten sucked up in it too! (tiny drawf hamster)! She was perfectly fine and ended up living another 3 years!

I’ve had hamsters and gerbils 
They have all done that apart from my first hamster who was a rescue and was really old 😂

Mine escapes all the time I finally got a glass tank with a wire top that locked in place.
