Should I do it?

I have been thinking lately and I think it would be good for me to experience living by myself. I am married and have been for a year, but I've never lived on my own. I think I could get an apartment for fairly cheap and would still be able to see him all the time because we would love really close to each other. I just really want to experience this since I never got to before marriage. Do you think I should?

I feel like that’s something you do before you get married. That’s the whole purpose of marriage, to have a life TOGETHER. I don’t understand why anyone would willingly live separate from their spouse..

Aside from e everything I really want to say about how incredibly weird I think this is...what a huge waste of money! Another rent, another set of utilities,  another internet bill, you'll have to have furniture unless you rent something furnished,  you'll have to sign a lease... I mean...my husband and I are struggling just to afford life in a 2 bedroom apartment, can't imagine trying to pay a whole new set of bills, plus.... you're MARRIED.  I don't get it.

I did something similar and it was such a great experience. I had a year long lease that I had taken out before I got engaged and married. I finished out my lease and I'm so glad I got that experience. Because I know now that if anything were to happen to my husband or we separate I won't be lost in how thing's work and stuff like that. I say do it! Ignore the others here that will try to tear you down for wanting a life experience. Especially the comment that says you want to be "single" again because that's bullshit. I think everyone should experience life on their own at least once. And I was married and it was just like we were still dating and it was a blast! Best of luck!

Should have did that before getting married but I do feel ya.  I have had a child since I was 16 and have never truly lived alone now my last one is 15 and I’m married so looks like I’ll never get to experience that either...

Kind of defeats the purpose of being married.. and maybe should’ve thought about that beforehand?
