Is Medical marijuana ok?

Question

I recently found out I am pregnant! I have a medical marijuana card I haven’t spoken to my doctor about it yet because my first appointment is on Monday will I be able to continue smoking or will I need to stop?(no rude comments I have a serious medical condition that has led me to start smoking)

It depends on your doctor. Because there's not a lot of research on it they are 'hesitant' to recommend it, per se. I have my card, too - my regular OB told me to decrease my use and to use it as little as possible,  but my specialist was VERY anti any use whatsoever. Supposedly it can create a slight learning deficit, but when I compare the side effects of medical marijuana to the side effects of pharmaceutical drugs that I am prescribed the ones from the medical marijuana are much more tolerable, in my opinion. Ultimately, you and your doctor will have to decide what is best for you and your baby. Obviously getting the both of you through the pregnancy as easily as possible is the ultimate goal. You'll probably have to stop smoking but you might be able to continue to use it. 
I'd ask my doctor about switching from smoking to either edibles or oil.

Hun I live in California its legal medically and recreationally and I have had my medical card for over 6 years.When I asked my dr she IMMEDIATELY threatened to have CPS watch me and take my child if I continued. I have mine for Bipolar,PTSD, Severe Depression, Anxiety, and a spinal injury of my T-12. She didnt care about my medical reasons. I had to quit. Daily its a battle to make it through being unmedicated for everything I use it for. However CPS is still a huge threat a majority of drs use it really depends on their personal views.

I would say it would not be good for your child’s lungs! I smoked a lot in the first trimester when I was much younger before I knew I was pregnant. I do wonder if that is why she has rescuing pneumonia for her whole life and asthma and allergies very bad. I just wouldn’t.

Unfortunately, you’ll have to stop. Not even oil or edibles are safe. And believe me, I’ve tried SO hard to find anything supporting it. (It completely cured my depression when I was not pregnant) but it’s best to stop since when your baby is born, they do drug test it & if anything is found, they will take your baby. :(
