My husband is an addict.

👱🏼

So today while I was on my husbands computer I noticed a message pop up regarding a PayPal transaction. Thinking that this was weird, I opened the message and it was in regards to a trade for $100 for gold in some online video game. My husband has always played video games ever since I’ve known him. It’s been a hobby of his for a long time, it is one of the things we argue about the most. My husband also works from home and will frequently (5-7 nights a week) stay up late because “he has to work” when I know in my heart it is to play video games. This leaves me to wake up and take care of the house as well as our 3 month old son by myself. Side note- I’m also employed full time and am in masters classes, so I have zero free time... anyways back to today.

So immediately ask him about the $100. He gets defensive and makes up some story about how it’s really not $100 but that it was only going to be $15 after he got some other thing from someone else. Since I didn’t believe him I said that I wanted to see our pay pal account (I’ve never used it so I didn’t have the password) he said fine I will just give me a minute. So I go back to the computer and start trying passwords on the account. He comes in and gives it to me and there it is.... THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS have been spent in Just the last 18 months. I couldn’t believe what I saw. He immediately apologized and said that he understood if I wanted a divorce which stunned me even more. He said he was sorry and that he didn’t think I would ever find out (he does the finances so I rarely look at them) I just can’t believe that he has lied to me about this. I mean we have a 3 month old baby boy. For months I have been feeling like the only adult in the house and doing all of the responsibilities.... I’ve just felt so unappreciated and disrespected and now I’m just heartbroken and don’t know what to do.
