Birth Control and My “Period”
This is more of a question to ask than a discussion:
I’m 19 and I just recently got into birth control. I’m on my Week 3 of the pack but just this Sunday, after my scheduled time of taking the pill (6am) I noticed bleeding and immediately took a placebo pill. But upon reading other articles, I’m hearing that this isn’t my real period and that I should just take my hormone pills as usual. I even called Planned Parenthood and talked to a nurse but I want to confirm again because I was sort of nervous on the phone and didn’t quite understand. So should I continue taking my Week 3 pills as usual? What about my placebo pills of Week 4 after I finish Week 3, do I take those or start a new pack of hormone pills and start Week 1 of that pack? When do I know I have a real period?
