Insurance bill!?

So I just got off the phone dealing with my insurance info and the person told me the approximate amount the bill is gonna be after I get done with my c section (me and baby on my husbands plan) and its $5000. I just want to know I'm not the only one freaking out right now! anyone else in a similar situation?

$5000 😳 I switched my insurance over as soon as I got pregnant and now I don’t pay for ANYTHING. Not even my trips to the ER (L&D;), my mom delivered my 4 year old brother at the same hospital I’m delivering at and they charged her $500 for each time she visited the ER (L&D;) ... now I’m scared to ask how much her hospital bill was after birth 😩

I had a vaginal delivery, with an epidural, back in 2016 and my bills came out to about $7,500 for everything and that was with my insurance paying 80%. The epidural, my room, the nursery bill(even though the baby literally only went to the nursery for about 5 minutes for her hearing test), the delivering doctor bill and anesthesiologist bill were all separate bills.

I had a D & C due to a missed miscarriage almost a year ago that I’m still paying on ($3,000+) and now we’ll have to pay for delivery plus OBGYN (prenatal care) on top of that. I’ve already accepted that I’ll be paying on hospital bills my whole life, so I’m just gonna relax and pay what I can afford in monthly payments until it’s paid off. I’m not going to go broke getting them their money, they’ll get it when they get it. At my hospital as long as you pay your monthly agreement on time and don’t miss any, they don’t tack on any interest.

My husband is in the Air Force , our families sacrifices are real, but we are so blessed in the insurance aspect. Tricare is full coverage , we don’t have to pay a single penny for any of it. However , y’all will be in my prayers 💙 my sister is still paying for two of my nieces and they are 4 and 5! It’s insane !

Having a baby is not cheap it’s ridiculous. I applied for charity care with my last baby and it covered everything but 350 for my epidural. This time I’m only getting partial so I’m scared to see the bill!
