My OBGYN did that before I got my implant because they want to make sure you're absolutely 100% not pregnant because some of the side effects can affect the baby and cause things like birth defects or complications.

I got an implant and never had to do one as long as my periods were normal. They just made me take a 'mini pill' for 4 weeks prior to getting it.

My doctor did a pregnancy test, a Gonorrhea test, and Chlamydia test when I went to get bc recently. They also ask me my sexual health every time I'm there to keep my file up to date and ask if I want a pregnancy or STD test done. You should do both tests when you go to get bc. You should be in control of your body and know what's going on with it. Best of luck to you.

I went to my doctor to get on a pill and he only asked me if I would like to have a pregnancy test done, however I'm not sexually active so I said I don't need one. I think it depends on where you're from maybe.

it depends on your date of last period and sexual activity. ive never gotten a pregnancy test but you cannot be pregnant on birth control. if youre not sure then you should take one anyway
