I just found out I have PCOS..

Gabs

Hi all. I’m new to this group and to this all together. I’m 26 years old and just found out I have PCOS. I am not obese, actually in pretty good shape. No hair in odd places. I had two cysts on one of my ovaries back in November. None since. I have acne. My husband and I started to ttc 6 months ago and I went in for blood tests last week because I was curious. Turns out all levels are good except my DHEA (androgen) levels that are elevated. They said 291. Whatever that means. They are also testing me testosterone and I don’t have those results yet. They put me on metroformin. I started it last night and have had horrible diarrhea.

I feel lost. I feel like for the first time in my life there’s something wrong with me. That I’m now labeled and have to rely on medicine to get pregnant and do things my body should do naturally. I am looking for some support. Some positive vibes.

I also should mention I also ovulate on my own (well for the 3 months I’ve charted) and my charts look healthy. Pretty normal cycles ranging from 27-32 days, but on average 28. Light periods, no crazy cramping or heavy bleeding.

I don’t want to feel alone and would like to hear about your experiences with metroformin. Thank you so much in advance for helping me come to terms with this as I know it’s not a “death sentence” and I can still conceive especially since I’m ovulating on my own...

Thank you 💜
