Where to put car seat?

Just got a car seat delivered today for my bub who is due in June, just wondering what is the best place to put the car seat like behind the passenger the drivers seat or in the middle seat? The instructions didn’t actually specify where so I wasn’t sure if there is a specific side that is best. Thank you in advance!

I liked it behind the driver seat so when I put baby in the car I didn't have to walk to the other side or climb into the middle.

You put the seat where you get the best install. Read your car manual first, some cars don't allow for a car seat to be installed in the middle, plus it may not get a secure install there depending on the seat. It's all about the install.

Fire department and police station said the safest place was behind the passenger seat. To put the car seat in the middle as a last resort. It has to do with it being open and not protected in a head on crash. I don’t really remember the exact reason but it was something along the lines, atleast it was a few years ago. I’d read your car seat and car manual and also consult your local fire department!!

Middle is safest but ours only does the seat hooks on passenger sides so fire department recommended passenger side

If the instructions don't specify, look in your car owners manual. My car seat manual said to defer to the car manual with any additional information regarding proper installation. If that still doesn't work, take it to your local fire station - they have people trained on how to properly install as well as the best place to install it in your vehicle.
