Feeling defeated

My hubby and I have been trying to have a baby since June 2017. We decided not to waste money on opks and just have fun and not think too much about it. I know I’m not out until af shows but I’m due between the 2nd and 6th and I’ve been having period like cramps so I know she’s on her way. We’re young only 21 and 22 and I never thought it would be this hard at all I little thought oh no condom we will definitely get pregnant right away. I don’t know what else to do at this point. We both desperately want a little bundle of joy and it’s just not happening. Should we see if we have fertility issues?
