Baby shower woes

This is my second pregnancy and with my first my mom had said she wanted to plan my baby shower. Well she and I weren't on the best terms and she said she was "too busy" to plan it, so my MIL planned it for me. This time around my mom and I have a much better relationship and beings that I'm having a girl this time I need all new clothes and such, so she said again she wanted to plan the baby shower. I kept wanted to buy baby clothes and items so i was prepared for when baby girl would make her arrival but my mom kept saying wait for the baby shower. we have some stuff but definitely not enough to fully prepare us for our daughter's arrival, especially when I'm scheduled for a c section 5 days before my due date and she is measuring 4 weeks ahead so they might move up the surgery. There is still so much to do before the baby arrives and I'm stressing a bit because we also have problems with our vehicles at the moment and our son to take care of and my husband plans on taking some time off after the baby is born to help me. idk if i should plan the shower myself or say screw it and just go buy the stuff we need.
