And is there a reason behind it that they chose this particular name for you or not?

My mom didn’t have a name picked out so the nurse named me 🤷🏾‍♀️

My mom did, but they offered to let my brother (4 years older) choose. When asked, he said, "Creepo." They obviously didn't like it, so they thought the middle name could be a fallback..."No middle name, just Creepo".

I think my dad just liked my name. lol.  My MIL let my husband (he was 3) name his brother after a mouse on some show though. 😂

Joni Eareckson (Tada). She’s a Christian artist and author if I remember right. She went cliff diving and the water was more shallow than previously and she became paralyzed from like the neck down or something. Anyway, she started painting with her jaw. My mom didn’t idolize her or anything, she just heard the story on the radio and heard her name was Joni (pronounced Johnny). So she named me Joni with the same pronunciation. I changed it to Jonnie when I was sixteen when my dad adopted me to have his last name though. She just thought it was a cute girl name. She had no clue what she’d name me if I were a boy though lol.

My mom and dad compromised on my first name (my mom wanted to name me Harley {yes, because she loved HD at the time.. lol} and my dad said no way was I getting named after a bike.. lol. And my dad chose my middle name after a good friend of his.

My parents had a boy and girl named picked out. Mom ended up going with a name she heard on a soap opera that was on the tv in her room right after I was born 😂😂

My mom chose my name and I get two different stories from some different family members… The story my mother told me is that She found the name when she was reading the back of a Duracell battery. Apparently they used to be made by a company by the name of Mallory. My aunt says that there was an actor with the last name Mallory on one of their soap operas. But her facts seem to be crossed because she thinks it was from General Hospital, and my mom seems to remember that it was from days of our lives but that wasn’t the reason why she chose the name and it wasn’t where she found it. They bicker about this to this day and I am 40 years old! And in case you were thinking that it may have come from the show family ties, that is not correct because I was born well before that show ever came out.
