When to start opks?

Got my period 2 days ago for the 1st time in a year and 10 months! Had my son almost a year ago so that's why! When should I start OPKs? And would I record it as cd1 or whatever cycle day I stop my period?

I got my period back almost exactly 1 year after the birth of my son but my first cycle was about 3 months long, second 2 months, third 5 weeks then I got pregnant the next cycle. If you’re breastfeeding they tend to not come back regularly straight away so don’t freak out if you’re taking opks for months without a positive or period.
