Would you try and sort things after an argument if your other half walked out?

My other half isn’t good with words or feelings. We had an argument so his immediate response in this instance was to go so I’m assuming didn’t have to face it. He said he was going back to his flat and I said if you leave don’t bother coming back. He said fine, maybe we do need a few days apart. But I’m taking it as if he has given up... what do you think?

You also gave him an ultimatum when you know he doesn't deal well with emotions or feeling or expressing them. That was really unfair for you to do. Honestly, he shouldn't come back. You could have very easily let him go home, cool off & take some time.

I’d take it as he wanted space and to think over things. Everyone deals with things differently. I’d try and sort things out. Telling him not to come back wasn’t right, I don’t think.

It isn't best to give ultimatums during an argument, especially if he's just leaving to think. People need space, especially when they aren't good with words. And let's be honest, most women during arguments never be quiet long enough for men to think (I'm not bashing, I do it too). 
Let him have space to cool down. It didn't sound like he was leaving for good.

My boyfriend needs to breathe so he’ll walk out of the room to think and breathe and then come back when he’s calm so he doesn’t say anything and not mean it which in my case isn’t how I handle things I need to talk it out right away he’s gotten better and I’ve become more understanding my point is maybe he just needs time and for you to be patient depending on what the fight is it’s not that he doesn’t love you it’s just he said it in the heat of the moment

Sometimes people need to take a moment away from a situation to clear their head. This can help people calm down so they do not say something they will regret later.  You say he is not good with words. Plus you were the one that told him not to come back, did not sound like he was walking out for good initially. Maybe if you guys try to work on communicating with each other things will be different. That is a big part of relationships.
