Tamiflu at 7 weeks??

Question

So, hubs just tested positive for the flu. They gave him tamiflu and went ahead and gave me some as well since I’m obviously exposed to him. I am going to call my doc in the am to make sure it’s okay, but has anyone else taken this during pregnancy??

Speak to your doctor. There are some stories going around where people are claiming tamiflu is “causing death” meanwhile it’s been on the market for 20 years... so you will get a lot of unhelpful alarmist comments on here. Btw there’s no proven connection to the recent deaths. Just grieving family members placing blame.

We're they aware you were pregnant?  I wouldn't take it if it wasn't from your obgyn.  When I was pregnant no other doctor would see me bc I was and I could only see my obgyn even for a sinus infection.  Also if you got the flu shot I wouldn't take it.  But talk to your doctor.

My OB said in studies, pregnant women who took tamiflu had far less complications and were less likely to die than pregnant women who did not take tamiflu. That being said, I’d call your OB to let them know you’ve been exposed to the flu, and only take the Tamiflu if you actually show symptoms (it’s most useful when taken 24-48 hours after symptoms start). 
I had the flu last week, took tamiflu starting at around 30 hours after my symptoms started, and I was back to myself and feeling good after only 3 days of being sick. (I’m 25 weeks).

My husband and 4 year old son got the flu over Christmas and I never got sick. My Ob was concerned but said if I started to feel sick at all I should get started on Tamiflu right away. 
My daughter and I never caught the flu. I would wait unless you're sick now.

I had the flu and they wouldn't give me tamiflu bc I was pregnant they gave it to my mom though
