Call me crazy or not but I bought my fiancé a puppy for his Christmas at 13 weeks she is now 21 weeks and I'm due my baby in 23 days! She is a beagle cross with a Jack Russel she's so adorable. She has been around other animals and babies but how will I make sure that the dog knows that their will be a new arrival on the way what would be the best way too get her to bond withought her feeling left out (I know the baby will get more attention of course).

I've been told that this type of dog is over protective, guardian and when I did buy her the owner said she loves children and gets on well with animals which I have seen myself and is true.

My main concern is we have recently started putting her in her own cage I mean it's massive it can fit her bed, food and water plus toys. She goes too bed when she is told and goes too sleep when we do and wakes up when we do but my partner gets up early for work and sets the alarm which is quiet loud and the dog starts barking I'm worried that she might wake the baby in the morning.

Any advice that's recently had their baby with a dog?
