Non desperate message...

Hey ladies help a girl out... I’m wanting to reach out to this guy I had date with a while back and don’t want my message to sound desperate. He accepted my friend request, requested to follow me on instagram, so he’s at least aware of me. He started seeing another girl because his friends set him up and I don’t think it lasted. I don’t see her at all on social media. Anyway, just want to ask him out without sounding like a weirdo. Any suggestions?
