Only 1 blastocyst for testing 😭

We just finished our 2nd

IVF

cycle with only 1 blastocyst to send off for testing. We had 11 eggs retrieved with only 7 mature eggs. All 7 fertilized with ICSI and developed all the way up to day 5. Yesterday they called to say they're still developing but not yet ready for biopsy, today we get the call that 1/2 stopped growing, 1/2 started degrading and only 1 is good for biopsy. WTH! We have unexplained infertility and are sooo frustrated and heart broken. Now we might end up with no embryos to transfer.... $14,000 later. UGH. Anyone else have a similar experience? Did you ever get an answer about what the issue is? *UPDATE* we heard back from the genetic counsellor today and our 1 embryo is normal. I'm so relieved to T least have this one transfer before having to try again. Super hopeful but preparing for the worst.

**UPDATE #2 it really does only take one. Our little man is now 6 month old and absolutely perfect. Don’t give up! We were trying to conceive for years and did IVF twice before we got our miracle.
