I just went for my 20 week detailed scan today and I was expecting everything to be smooth sailing, nothing usual but I was thrown with a negative result.

My fetus has something called CCAM which is basically the lungs being filled with cyst and is enlarged so much that right lung is taking up 2/3 of the cavity and pushing his heart very much more to the left.

I asked the doctor what this means and what are the outcomes and he said - I can wait till 32 weeks to see if the left lung manages to grow and push the heart back to the middle or if the heart cannot take it, he will experience heart failure while in me and I may not even carry the child to full term.

I am from Singapore and there is no treatment for that here.

My very assuring gynae told me that honestly the situation is not looking very good but he is not experienced with such cases. He said that even if the child manages to pull through until full term, he may experience the complications after he is born.

Anyone experienced the same and what were the results? Were there any cases that this thing suddenly goes away and fully recover or what am I looking?

Really need to hear some experience on this. Thank you very much
