Using same name for your child as your ex-mates child’s name?

Background Story:

My partner and I are expecting our second son but we are torn on names. One name I love in particular and always have is the same name as his friends son. But in the past 2-3 years they haven’t spoken, caught up, even since having our son in that time frame his friend has not reached out for a congratulations or how is baby doing etc. My partner has said numerous times he is a shit friend and he is cut, deleted his number and profile of social media etc. There is honestly 0 contact between them. So now back to the name drama. Do you think knowing this information it would be okay for me to still push for the name to be used on our next son? Or is it still a no go? Thanks.
