Colposcopy??

Has anyone had a colposcopy exam for an abnormal pap? I’m almost 11 weeks pregnant and I have one tomorrow morning and I’m nervous 😬

I had one done at the beginning , very uncomfortable for me just because the spraying the cervix burned. On mine they did see some bacteria but they just told me they couldn’t do a biopsy because I was pregnant and would have to wait until my baby is born.

I had my colposcopy done at 17w and everything was fine. Wasn’t uncomfortable or painful at all.

Yes I'd ask before hand if they are going to take a sample for biopsy or if they are just going to take a coolest look. Most Drs won't take a sample for biopsy during pregnancy because it increases chance of miscarriage. You can turn it down if you don't feel comfortable. I've had a partial done while pregnant they just put solution on my cervix. Also a full after where they did a biopsy. Taking a tiny chuck of the cervix didn't feel great. If all a ton of questions if I was you.

I had one done a few years ago and not gonna lie to you it was very unpleasant. But it was over very quickly and I never had an abnormal pap after! Are you sure they should be doing it when you are pregnant? I would probably insist on waiting until after birth unless they gave you a very good reason.
