Should the Justice system be allowed to do this?

A woman severely abused her horses. They were unfed and 200 pounds underweight. One had to be put down. She was a given a 30 day jail sentence. The officers put pictures all around her cell of the horses, and they only allowed her bread and water for three days. Some people agree with this method. Others do not. What do you think?

I mean, she was fed wasn’t she? She had the basic human necessities given to her? 
I think if it was a child she abused, people would take things more seriously. But since it’s a dumb animal, eh whatever 🤷🏻‍♀️

i think if you are making a animal suffer .. i feel that you should at least go through some of what you did to them too ... i feel the same about people who beat on other people or children etc

I think she deserves a much higher sentence for animal cruelty, abuse and neglect. But I don’t agree with punishment like that where you give minimal food or stick pictures around the cell which likely was meant as a kind of psychological punishment/torture. It makes those who did that no better than her. Yes she deserves to be punished and pay for her actions but I she should be treated like other prisoners where she eats in the cafeteria, etc. Being punitive in punishment isn’t ever right in my opinion.

30 days? One horse literally lost their LIFE because of this woman, and the rest will probably be traumatised for the rest of their lives. They might be animals but they are still living, intelligent creatures. She deserves years and is lucky to even be fed and looked after unlike those poor horses.

I went to jail for 30 days for a god damn traffic violation and barely got food some days. So hell no that's not fair because that woman deserves way more than 30 days. It's a life she took.

Longer sentencing, regular feeding and what not. 
As a horse owner this is abhorrent to me, but I won’t be so crude as to reduce someone to the absolute bare minimum. Definitely should have had much longer time though, and hopefully be put down somewhere as not allowed to own horses anymore.

Wow, she should have gotten much longer than that. 
Not sure how I feel about the bread and water only. It seems a little barbaric/ third world country type thing. But she was fed and it was only for three days so....  I'm on the fence about that
