First time wedding! Is a court house wedding rude?

My fiancé and I just got engaged (finally!!!) and we are purchasing the entire wedding on our own, in the middle of us purchasing a first home.  In other words, we aren’t looking to spend 20k on a wedding. We both believe we don’t need something extravagant to show our love for one another. 
We are thinking of doing a court house wedding on our own, just to change everything legally, then maybe send out invitations for a celebration after we’ve saved up a bit more. Is it rude to not have family and friends there for the “big day”? We want to hurry and finally be “married,” but we don’t want to wait a year to change everything OR hurt feelings. 
Advice? Past experience?

Nope, it’s your day not theirs! When my bf and I get married, I plan on a courthouse wedding a nice honeymoon. A small get together of family/friends at the house after the ceremony, but that’s it! I don’t feel guilty

You can do whatever you want. When it comes to weddings, you have to do something you are happy with and no worry about anyone else. If they love you they will understand.
A big party afterwards sounds great.

I paid for 20 people to come to my wedding just to hear them bitch. I only wanted three people there lol no it's your wedding, you can always have a bigger ceremony later in life.

It’s not rude, but if you just got engaged- is there a rush? you don’t have to spend $20,000 to have a nice wedding either. Totally up to you, but for someone reason people always say ‘$20k or courthouse’ like there is no in between.
