assisted suicide?

i’m just curious what your opinions on assisted suicide with terminally ill patients are. there are a couple states who allow assisted suicide as long as they have less than 6months to live and have 3 recommendations from doctors (2 oral, 1 written). i want to know what y’all think of this- are you for it or against it? should every state allow this? what adjustments would you make to these laws?

Yes. I’ll never understand how we have the right to choose this for our pets, yet our brothers and sisters can’t choose this for themselves.
I think there should be requirements, such as the illness being terminal and/or the patient has pain that is too horrible to live with.

I think if somebody is terminally ill, or somebody is in a lot of pain that most likely will never go away, why should be force them to live? Assisted suicide would allow them to do it without pain, why would somebody actually be against this?

Its legal here in Canada and i’m all for it. I watched both my grandparents suffer very painful deaths (before this was enacted) and if someone wants to end their suffering then i understand 100% and i believe having a doctor help is much better than someone doing it themselves. 
A family friend with terminal brain cancer did assisted death last year. He said he didnt want to get any worse, and the pain was just too much.

For it. My grandma suffered a horrible slow death, granted this was 19 years go, but it isn't something, I am likely to forget. 
I'm just glad it is legal now.

i helped one of my old clients die ...it was very scary watching her talking to people i couldnt see cuz she was so close to death

I’m for it. My dad was very sick and ended his own life in a very tragic way and it was horrible for everyone involved.

I'm for it. I personally don't think I could ever do it but I think it should be the individuals decision. For myself, I'm leaving it up to God. I mean, he is a miracle worker.

I don't see why bodily autonomy shouldn't count when it comes to choosing your own terms at death. Definitely for it, especially after seeing a close family member not have this choice

I would not do assisted suicide because if someone is ill they can take medicine or have surgery done
