Skipped placebos to avoid withdrawal bleeding, still wound up happening anyway. Can I make it stop?
I’m on Pirmella 1/35 (1mg progesterone, 0.035mg estrogen) and I skipped my placebos because I consistently spotted for a while after I started my new pill (about two weeks). I was hoping to avoid the withdrawal bleeding, but I started spotting light to medium brown today, with some small, stringy clots. Just my luck, the day before Valentine’s Day.
I have an OB/GYN appointment in a few weeks and I’ll be talking to him about switching to something that’ll have me end up with less periods.
In the meantime, is there anything I can do to lessen or stop this withdrawal bleeding? My guess is that my pill wasn’t strong enough to completely skip my period. It’s inconvenient, but if there’s nothing I can really do, I’ll just deal with it.
