Should a girl say happy Valentine’s Day first?

So, Ive been seeing this guy for a while now, we’re not officially gf, bf, but we’re casually dating. I spoke with him today, but not once did he ever say Happy Valentines Day. Granted I know he doesn’t like the day, because he “never had a good one”. But, I’m thinking to myself, if we’re going to be serious someday I don’t want to not get a simple happy Valentine’s Day just because of your past experiences with other women you know. So, I was thinking about just calling him & saying it, but I’m not sure lol. Do you think I should just say it first? Maybe I’m just overthinking it lol
