Overian cyst caused me pain and my left ovary

Alyssa

So I’m only 15 years old and just two days ago I had to get surgery to remove a 6inch cyst on my left ovary that had moved up my abdominal. I’ve been having left side pain for over two years but lately the pain has been an on and of thing for way to long. So just Thursday I went to see my regular doctor and he had me do an X-ray and blood test but at that night my left side was just unbearable to deal with. So I called my dad to take me to the Er with my mom, the tests that my doctor ordered came out fine so the Er did a CT and and hour of waiting later they found out that I have a small 2cm cyst on my right ovary and a 6inch cyst on my left ovary. So they recommend some ob’s to go to. So the next day I’m feeling fine until the ending of a basketball game I went to and I was just in pure pain and didn’t care who saw me crying, so I had my dad pick me up and told him to take me to the Er. At the Er the doctor that was working there said that if my left side was in more pain then ever then the cyst might had flipped my ovary causing it to not get enough blood and kill the ovary. So they gave me something for the nausea and Morphine for the pain and had my dad drive me to the hospital to get an ultrasound. The ultrasound looked okay when the results came out so they sent me home. My mom made an ob appointment for me three days later and I was in pain either day or night of those three days. Finally we went to the ob and he did an ultrasound on an iPad and say that from my CT scan that the cyst had moved up and the it got a little bigger so he said that he’d get it out by surgery and that I’d be an in and out patient but because of how late it was he had me stay the night at the hospital. So they but me under and get the cyst on my left and right ovary, but when I woke up they had to remove my left ovary because of how many times the cyst had twisted it and suffocated it. So now I’m back at home and recovering just fine with some pain killer they perceived me and really the incisions they did was really small except the one where they removed my ovary. So I just decided to write out my story for any one who might be going through the same thing or similar. So if you’ve been having left or right side pain for a while and know it’s not period cramps get yourself checked out to see if it’s a cyst or anything other then that that can be more serious.
