Why won’t they deliver me !?

Question

I’m 37 weeks tom and my baby weighs 10 lbs 9 ounces . His fluid is a little high . Why won’t they deliver me now and make me suffer another 2 weeks until they deliver me at 39 weeks :(

Maybe they feel there is no justifiable medical reason to deliver you.

Like others said, weight estimates can be way off. Data has shown delivery at 39 weeks or later is much safer than delivery at 37 weeks. 37 week babies often have breathing, blood sugar or temperature problems (mostly breathing) that resolve from growing a couple more weeks inside mom.

Well they could be off by at least 2 pounds. I wouldn’t want my baby born at 37 weeks. You want that baby to cook. If the cord isn’t in the way then I would really just wait it out to 39 weeks. It’s going to be ok. Trust me.

Just an update : They ended up scheduling me a c -section  at 38 weeks due to macrosomia.

Big babies aren't a medically justifiable reason for early induction. My dr says more science now suggests full term is considered 39 weeks vs 37, so they try to keep them in to finish baking. I feel your pain though, I'm being induced at 39 (I'm 36 now) as he's already supposedly 9lbs. 
If it helps, my first was also an induction at 39 weeks bc he was close to 10lbs and my fluid was a little high and he came out 7lb 11oz. Rest while you can, try to enjoy the last two weeks. Believe it or not, this is the easy part!

the weight estimations are really a guess. They told my sister she was having a 12lbs baby and he was 9.5 lbs.
