Moving in with SO

So my boyfriend and I are planning to move in together when he’s done with school in May (he’ll be 24, I’ll be 20, dating for about 1.5 year by then) he goes to school an hour and a half away but his parents house where he lives on the weekends and summer is down the street from me.

We’ve talked about moving in together when hes done with school as I only have a year or two left in mine. He already has had an apartment before either with roommates or by himself, but I still live with my parents.

I pay for my own things already (phone, gas, car insurance, food, clothing, etc.) the only financial tie I have to my parents is that my car was previously my dads and he’s still making payments ~400/month. They have me pay $276 a month for car & insurance total.

I guess I just don’t know how to tell my parents I want to move out. I’m afraid of the big change of leaving their house (I’m ridiculously independent but it’s still a big change) and having my own space AND living with my boyfriend. I had a roommate my freshman year of college so that was fine. My parents adore my boyfriend, my little brother looks up to him, and they’ve had no problems with me spending the night alone with him for whatever reason (they only know about a few times lol)

Tl;dr — wanting to move in with boyfriend, first time “moving out” and don’t know how to tell my parents
