If a guy asks you what you would do if he asked you out what would you do

There’s this dude at my school whom I think likes me. Every time I’m near him, he talks about topics I’m passionate about. He has also asked me what I would do if he asked me out, if he hugged me, and if he had a crush on me. To me, he appears really ugly, but I don’t know why I’m liking him. If you were in my situation and he asked you out, what would you say?
