Ttc after chemical pregnancy

We ttc for 20 months which ended in a chemical in May 2016. I became really depressed so we decided it was best to take a break from ttc. We have now been ttc again for 6 months. My dr had told me before my chemical that I probably have pcos and prescribed me metformin but she didn’t test me for pcos. My question is, because it took so long before to get pregnant which ended in a chemical, should I wait a year this time to talk to my dr or talk to her sooner about possible fertility treatments?
