my 5 month old won't let my husband put him to bed

for about a month now my five month old son won't let my husband put him to bed. And if he wakes up and my husband goes to get him he will cry and cry and cry until I come and get him. Then takes about 15 minutes to a half-hour for him to stop doing the hiccups after crying. he also doesn't sleep through the night. I'm a once in a while get four hours but then he's up every hour after that. I don't know what to do I'm getting so tired. During the day he only naps for half hour at around 9 a.m. and then again at noon and then again at 2 and then usually around 4 or 5 and then bed starts at 7.
